This is the prototype where I am now, I replaced switch from the last model as it was a bit temperamental as mechanical sensors tend to be. This model uses a light gate with an LDR and a fucking LASER beam! Could have just used an LED but where’s the fun in that?
I built the housing through layers of carboard allowing for space for the speaker, LASER gate and coin slot.
It has been embedded in the lid of our studio coffee and tea funds jar.

A classmate suggested that I housed the whole thing, transformer and all, into one box so it looks tidier. So I did that!
And now it sits nicely next to the teabags, at least until I need my components back later on in the week!
Got a few ideas for the next steps but I’ll post them as I go.
UPDATE: here is the alteration in the code for a lightgate (not tested but I’m pretty sure it’s correct)
