I am really chuffed with how the electronics have come out having taken it off the PCB and soldered it onto 3 tiers of strip board with it still working! Looks a bit manic but it does all make sense, honest! The bottom level is the PICAXE 28X1 chip controlling the VMUSIC2 player connected to it. The next level up is the PICAXE 18X which is connected to the bumper switches and the L293D motor driver to power and command the vairous motor movements. The top level is the PICAXE 18x connected to the coin slot which instructs when to activate the various separate functions. There are various connections between the 3 microcontrollers and the RGB LED in the head is connected amongst all that too. On top of all that there is a battery compartment coinging 8 batteries, hacked so that its receives separate 2 6v outputs from 2 groups of 4 AA bateries - one for the electronics and one for the amplifier connected between the VMUSIC2 player and the loudspeaker. Simple really when you have spent 3 months tampering with it all!
So to counterbalance all that geekery, here are some photos (unfortunately also of electronics)

I’m undecided whether or not to post up the code for it all - a magician not revealing their tricks and all that - so if you want to see it then fire me an email.
